Hey Guys! Any of you replaced the Hennessy Ridgelines with Amsteel?
Did not know if it was worth it for the strength or not, but was just wondering.

I have not. Then again, I have never had any RR break on me. I don't pull then very tight. Usually, after I get in, they are a bit looser than when I set up. I do have one HH RL that I cut and inserted a(smallest) screw link, so I could get rid of the RL if I wanted to use a PeaPod. It also has never broke after many years, so I'm not sure a lot of strength is needed.

Not on a Hennessy, however, I used 1/8 inch amsteel for a more comfortable lay in my Eno doublenest.

I have 1/8 inch Whoopies on it - I know folks say 7/64 in would work, but I am not as light as I usta be (Working on that...)
Just wondered if it was worth looking at switching the Ridgeline out, sounds like its not....Good, since I did not want to mess with the ends other than Whoopies.....
Thanks for the feedback.

I changed to whoopies I built myself and chose 1/8 inch, though many have assured me 7/64 should work fine. Please do what you feel comfortable with, you are talking about going into the bush which can be dangerous in its self, as Papa Smurf said at the fall hang, "the beginning DIYer overbuilds their first projects."
