Mission for Sil Nylon to make gear quilt
Hey there everyone! New to the forum and actually new to forums in general. Actually new to hammocking this year as well. All sorts of new things.
Well I'm in search of a good low cost supplier or silnylon (I think 1.1 oz would be plenty) my intention is to make a gear hammock that can double as a pack cover when needed, this way I could cut my pack cover from my base weight an still have a sling for my pack (I have an issue with bugs)
Anyone have a good idea of the cheapest fastest shipping location to order silnylon?? Any tips when making my gear hammock?

Ditto RSBTR. Sometimes people do group buys for those giant rolls from that Magna Fabric website, which I did several years ago. However, I have used all that 1.1 up. If I was to buy again like you are searching for, I would go with RSBTR

Also, consider SilPoly. Less stretch, better UV "sturdiness", and does not soak up water like silNylon does.

+1 to SCUBA's comment. RSBTR is great. I have also ordered quite a bit from DutchWareGear.com too.

For a small quantity maybe try posting a "want to buy..." in forums like this. Someone might have some hanging around they're not doing anything with and will let it go cheap.
I'd offer you some, but I only have uncoated fabric hanging around right now.

Kyle at www.ripstopbytheroll.com is a hard one to beat. Wide selection or supplies and fast shipping. Welcome to the forum! You may also try a pack strap out of lash it or zing it with one of the micro-biners. You can wrap it around the trunk of a tree and suspend your pack above the ground, a little lighter than the gear sling, but either is good.

Re: Mission for Sil Nylon to make gear quilt
Ripstop by the roll actually sells a pack cover kit that starts at around $10 for all the materials needed to make a basic pack cover. I am sure you could easily modify it to make a gear sling.
