New pocket concept

#1

Post by PapaSmurf » Fri Jun 02, 2017 10:25 pm

I've been playing around with a new pocket design and thought I'd show off the first couple prototypes.
It'll fit on pretty much any hammock either on the ridgeline or maybe on the suspension or straps.
I think further prototypes will be geared towards CPAP machines and related equipment. Anyway, here's a look.

Nice. I guess they would support more weight than the mesh style peek bags?

Next up! One for your bear spray can! Then, one for your hand grenade. Then...... JK....

Maybe a small sewn pocket on the blue one so as to not to unzip and loose everything. I like.

JK?

Speak for yourself.

I'd want a bazooka bag, too.

I like, maybe demo it with a hot glue gun on the other site...

Oh my, a Smurf holding a firearm! What is the world coming to?
Great idea. I like the concept. Of course I like the old gun pouch from Dream Hammocks as well.

I like the idea. Like some one else mentioned a pocket inside the blue one would be handy. Maybe even a full length mesh pocket on one side and a material pocket on the other?

I really like the holster pocket. Is there something you could do so it wouldn't come unzipped to far? I would hate to unzip it too far and have the contents fall on me. I tend to break things and make them fail in ways that are thought to be impossible so I have to think about things like that.

I like the idea of both of them folding over my ridgeline vs. using a hook or Velcro.

Looking forward to seeing them in production.

Great ideas! Simple enough to swap between hammocks.

Can the pistol model be sized according to the contents? Perhaps a bit less form fitting? Rather keep em guessing than have the pocket showing things off. Might be tough do to for Sarge's bazooka though!!!

Might need to update my Raven(s) order.....

Oh yea. I'd personally rather have a rectangle shaped one for more flexibility.
I'm thinking about building one that has gussets in it so that it'll expand to hold something thicker.
Just waiting on some free time in the workshop.

A gusseted rectangle should work well with different sized guns. Could be handy during hunting season when the compact ccw auto gets swapped out for a single action revolver.

Interested to see where your idea ends up.
