Picked up a "loofa" for my hammock to make a snake skin, and a second for my diy tarp project.

That's a great idea! I used the left over of my SilPoly after making my winter tarp. I may have to look at doing this for the kids' gear. Thanks for sharing the idea.

As far as the OP goes, I tried this with a loufa from Walmart. I guess I'm just too rough because I couldn't even get it over my tarp before it just ripped to shreds.

Good news is i broke down and bought some skins from Mountain Goat Hats. They are quite awesome, I must say!

Yeah they're pretfy light duty, I've only used this for my hammock. I haven't made the tarp yet, or tried this with anything bigger..
