Also, I just checked a weather station very near a lake I have hiked into many times over the years, on the Eastern slopes of the Rockies in the Wind River Mountains. The snow depth there was still 13" at lake shore elevation, down from 32" one week ago, so melting pretty fast. Point is, I have been there once about this date in June and many times later in the summer and have never seen any snow at all at this elevation( 10,000 ft). Yes, in June I have seen plenty of snow higher up above 12,000 ft, but none at 10,000 in June. So if any one is planning a hike out there, crossing any mountain passes may prove interesting!

Might make the PCT a REAL fun hike this year
