Trail Days - Damascus

#1

Post by hikehunter » Tue Jan 10, 2017 9:18 pm

19 May thru 21 May 2017.

I am thinking of taking a trip to east Tennessee in May. I plan to hang on my new property by the GSMNP & go to trail days for a bit.

Anyone wish to join in ?

The planning begins NOW.

I have a shower and potty in the cabin that can make things easier. There is an RV pad with elec/water hook ups. lots of trees and even places for tents. Could handle 5 to 8 folks. Might stand in line for a shower as the water heater is small and would need time to recover. I am making a working recon trip the last 5 days of Feb. There are some places in and around Damascus to camp. It takes about 2 hours to drive from my cabin to Damascus. Only 25 min. to Gatlinburg or an hour to Asheville,NC. Davenport Gap / Standing Bear Farm(AT) cross road is about 15 min drive.
There are some real nice places to eat within 10 to 15 min. from the cabin.

I am thinking that my wife and I will just stay in the cabin and drive to Trail Days for the fun on Friday and Saturday. I want to get a look at the Creeper Trail section as I have never been there. May need to buy my wife a bike so we can ride some of the trail while we are there.

Hello folks,

There is a time limit here. I need to block out the dates on the cabin if this is going to happen. If there is going to be reservations made anywhere, they need to be mad soon as the area gets booked up rather quickly. Plans need to bee made soon and I have heard nothing from the group. I now set a time limit of 25 Jan. 2017. If I do not hear from folks before them I will adjust to what is needed. Thanks.

Would love to, but I promised my Mom a vist last year and couldn't make it. If I don't make that trip this year, there will be a giant rift in the time/space contimuum.

Thanks to those that replied. I am still in the planning stage, however, I have not set anything in stone yet.

Stop by the Hennessy site on the vendors' strip and say hello, please. I will likely be the only red-haired female helping there. We may be (WILL BE, probably!) swamped, so it may take a minute to register with me. We get so busy, my head spins if I try to shift focus.
