New spot to hang at work with a view

Got off work today and decided to clear out a better spot to hang at work that had a better view. Now I get to kick back and watch the alligators eat the ducks. I'm just hoping the alligators don't get hungry enough to come after me [emoji44]

Talked to the local sheriff officer that we let fish here. He said last week he went night fishing and a alligator started coming right at him in the same spot. He had to put two shots near the gater to get it to turn away. He wasn't trying to hit it, just scare it. So I don't believe I want to sleep in this spot anymore. I've heard of people up North being worried about being a bear burrito in there hammock. Never thought there would be a issue with being a alligator appetizer here down South.

Haha! I think I'll give the gaters some room. The duck population is getting thin so I don't want to tempt them. I'm originally from North Central Texas so gaters are something new to me. So far 2-4' gaters and one 8' have been spotted out there.

How high can a 'gator jump? I've seen them jump about a body length across a canal to nail a deer, but it was only horizontal. I've left dead animals for them to eat, but was warned never to leave anything the same place twice. I do remember a big one, probably over 12 feet heading across a pond when I drove by one day.
Looks like a great place to hang, must be a great job-watching the duck population diminish.
