A build using the Sierra Trading Post throw blanket, the replacement for the Costco Down Throw blanket. While not as adaptable as the Costco Throw, it does make a nifty torso length Summer UQ

The $35 Underquilt
You can resolve to live your life with integrity. Let your credo be this: Let the lie come into the world, let it even triumph. But not through me. ― Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

Re: The $35 Underquilt
Good video Sarge, I may just use some of your ideas when I get around to this project. Also I might open a seam and add more down and shake it in throughout, I liked this idea of yours.
Also beating that DT fellow. Just my personal opinion but this country may take a beating as will if he get R nomination and even worse the top job... but I hope I'm wrong about that. My confidence is in God not human gov (Psalms 146:3). But I cannot be dismayed by some total nonsense ideas and wrong directions human leaders choose.

There are several methods to wash dry clean only items at home without taking them to a professional dry cleaner, also some "dry clean" detergent for a washing machine which I have never used. Basically just be gentle (I use woolite) with the fabric and never throw it in a dryer. I use these methods for all my hammocks and insulation such as quilts and sleeping bags. Here are some links:

Also not ideal but it sort of works is to spray a light coating of silicon fabric protector on an item like this. The biggest problem is that it reduces its ability to breath and can result in condensation in a humid environment. Products like Atsko Silicone Water-Guard 10.5 oz or 3M Scotchgard Outdoor Water Shield 10.5 oz for about $8 - 10 from Amazon, Jet, eBay or your local camping supplier. I would avoid homemade mixes of silicon caulking and mineral spirits brushed or sprayed on, that is a mess and never worked well for me.
I occasionally use a general purpose Under Quilt Protector (UQP) I made regardless, it doesn't weight that much but does some and takes extra time to put on. Therefore I only use if the ground is bare and looks like rain will cause mud to splatter up on UQ and/or Hammock.
