Post by sarge » Thu Mar 24, 2016 10:59 am

Yessir, I'm New Pack Happy! Got with Chris Zimmer at Zimmerbuilt Packs and whupped out something to lighten my summer time load. Its a lot easier to lighten your load when you start with one of these packs.

I'm still figgerin out how to pack it. There's advantages and disadvantages to putting the hammock stuff in the mesh pockets in the same way I do the hammock pack. We'll have it all figgered out by April, and I'll take it with me then.

But I reduced the wieght of the pack by more than a pound---

Yah;

The Hammock Pack weighs right at two pounds---which is already light for such a big pack. With this Quick Step one I lose about 500ci, but it weighs less than 3/4 pounds. Its almost like cheating.

Costs about a hunnert bux less, too.

That's gonna be my next big foray into MYOG. Gots to cogitate some on it before I get the gumption.

Sarge, you are definitely from East Texas! Most people would think you are speaking a foreign language after reading that last sentence. Of course, if you aint from East Texas, then you would be the one speaking a foreign language. Ha.

I am a native Texan (born in Dallas, TX) and lived in Marshall, TX for 3 years and Nacogdoches, TX for 5 years (while going to Stephen F. Austin State University) and married a local girl from San Augustine, TX. So I am definitely familiar with the East Texas dialect!
