Cinch Belt

#1

Post by PapaSmurf » Sun Apr 17, 2016 1:10 pm

Here's a little video we shot yesterday on the Cinch Belt we came up with a while back.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thKiYeaWZ5g

A couple years ago Deanna and I were headed off to a wedding and I had to wear stinkin dress pants. I didn't own a black belt so at the last minute, I ran down to the workshop and sewed one up using some scrap 1" polypro webbing and a black cinch buckle. Since then, I've been wearing one for a couple years now and it's holding up pretty good. The one shown in the video is actually that very first one I built.

I do the same thing when camping---5 feet of webbing with a cinch buckle. Came in handy once, and that's enough for me to put up with the excess belt material hanging from the third belt loop back from the front of my trousers.

I'm usually in my hammock by that time. I generally bring a pair of gym shorts or lightwieght jammie pants with me in case there's sometime in the night when I need to go running through the woods screaming like a little girl----

I never use a belt to hold my pants up while I'm sleeping. :)

Neat idea. I guess skinny folks wouldn't get as much of an extension. Where do I find black cinch buckles?

When I orienteer, or hike, I use a poly compresson strap from REI. I got it long, then cut it short and melted the cut. Been using it for 7 or so years.

Well dang, you would think that as many times as I've been to your website i would have seen that. Guess I've always been to busy drooling over the hammock selections. Well i guess i have an excuse to go to your website again, maybe I'll make it past the hammocks this time.

No problem. Let me know how we can help you out.
If you're gonna make a fancy dress belt like mine, you should definitely have the black cinch buckles.

Me-" i bought a belt"
Her-" why would you to that, you have a bunch of belts already"
Me-" yea, but this one was made by Smurfs!"
