Amish Paradise

#1

Post by PapaSmurf » Wed Mar 15, 2017 10:42 pm

This evening a runaway horse and buggy crashed through the side of my son's house.
Only in Amish country folks.

is a run away horse and buggy like a car with a stuck throttle? too bad you can't just turn the key off on the buggy...

And your son is probably gonna have to pay for it. Only thing the Amish are good for is tax evasion

No, the Amish fella will be out to fix everything up and the insurance guys won't be involved.

Not sure how it is where you live, but my neighbors are some of the greatest people I can think of.

I'd make the Amish guy pay to have an actual carpenter fix it. I've work on a bunch of "quality" Amish made houses, cabins, and remodels and they end being horrible to work on. No studs line up, nothing is level, and they use their own, knotty, warped, rough cut, garbage materials.

To top it off they don't pay insurance, they don't follow safety laws, and they have CHILDREN working on their projects.

Another irritant is they pay NO taxes. I have to pay taxes on every. Single. Little. job I take whether it's $20 or $20,000. And the road that buggy damages more than anyone's car ever cpuld... they don't pay a dime towards them.

So I say to hell with the Amish guy. Get an estimate from a REAL carpenter and make they guy pay for it. But what do I know I'm just a professional

Hasn't been my experience at all. I'd get a 16 year old Amish kid for a job before I would the average union carpenter.
