Not sure about mints, but I bet he can drop some critter attracting jellybeans under your tarp. :o

How do we pay in advance or would it be better to pay at the lake to avoid the PayPal fees so you get the full amount?

The money is a Scuba question.

I'll likely send mine in advance as groceries need to be purchased ahead of time and I don't feel like messing with cash in the woods anyway.

I like PayPal for lots of reasons. I especially like the service it provides in buying or selling gear and the protection it provides are well worth the small fees. I'm not worried about my protection on this transaction so I plan to send it to him as a "Send money to friends or family" option so he gets the full amount. When I send money that way, there is not a cost to him and if I use my credit card instead of my bank or PayPal balance, I pay the fee.

(I am a strong believer in paying for services rendered so this is not an end around to avoid fees, it simply seems to me like that is the purpose for which this option was designed.)

I'm not saying that's the way to do it, just how I plan to unless directed otherwise. :)

I will collect money at the beginning of July and yes, the paypal friends and family is the way to go.

Will do (use the PayPal friend and family option). Just let us know when to send you the money.

Based on summer weather patterns, what if we changed the menu? Pack the coolers with dry ice and go with ice cream for every meal?

Unless we freeze our butts off again.

OK, I guess I need to read through all this, I've been overtaken by personal issues...So we are contributing money instead of bringing stuff? I really like that better. I am making some seriously spicy sauerkraut though, but I won't be bringing the brisket, right?

Coolers of dry ice sounds like we can have some fun; i.e., science experiments with CO2 in closed bottles.

I never needed anything more than a PLUQ last year. I don't know where the freezing cold temperatures occurred? Not around my set up.

Looking forward to this trip :-)

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe we are still having the one pot luck meal on Saturday night that everyone was going to bring something to if they wanted to participate. This other meal deal (listed here in this thread) is for the other four meals (Thursday Dinner, Friday Breakfast, Friday Dinner and Saturday Breakfast). You will be on your own for all other meals (all Lunches, Sunday Breakfast-and of course if you come on Wednesday, then Wednesday Dinner and Thursday Breakfast).

We are having a Saturday night pot luck And the other meals are being catered by our Dutch oven crew for the cost listed earlier. It is optional but since Cheryl always cooks for me anyway, this just makes it official.

OK, I see, said the blind man. I will continue the brisket plan for Saturday night. And, willingly contribute to the "Iron King and Queen's" foodstuffs. Yep, yep, yep.

since it is Texas and hot, many did not bring any under insulation, and I didn't even bring top insulation or a tarp. I was still converting from tent days, camping in the summer I never used any covers. Camped a couple weeks before that at home and was hot all night. Even just a PLUQ would have been great. The Butt Bake was my first experience with CBS - summer in Texas, go figgur.

I should know in the next week if my schedule will let me go this year.
Texas sucede? Y'all are lucky we don't invade!
