I was thinking it would be a good weekend for the LSHT. It never occurred to me that it might be closed. It's deer hunting season after all.

The trail is usually open year round. During deer season you are "suppose" to only camp in the hunter's camp sites which are clearly marked on the LSHT trail maps. They also have a FaceBook page that contains up-to-date information about the trail and a place where you can ask questions directed at the people who maintain the trails. It was a very informative resource for me when we did our thru-hike.

Yea I have the hunter campsites on my mini map, and have my orange vest and shirts. I heard that it was closed for awhile after the hurricane. Just wondering if it has been lifted for that part of the trail I want to hike? I have been on facebook and have not seen anything recently, but will double check.

The LSHT is still closed due to storm damage.
