It's official, I can't get that Friday off. And if it's anything like yesterday, I didn't get off work till 9pm. So I have to decide if I'm driving up Saturday morning and catching a ride in on one of Scuba's "ice runs". Since I'll probably still be a bit dehydrated from work, I don't want to risk a solo hike in this heat. Or I just plan for next year. Not sure I can top the flamingos on short notice.

This is my first group hang and I am super excited!

I am relatively new to backpacking so what is something easy I can bring for the potluck?

Thanks y'all!

Just realized while looking at the calendar, that Saturday is Nicolas' birthday. I should probably be a good dad and be there for him. Unless I can convince him there are Pokemon to catch at Neiderhoffer, he won't go.

Perhaps we can get the Pokemon people to create a new Pokemon called Cookie Coon?

I plan to bring some of my DIY supplies that I am not using or have any immediate plans for for people to pick through, no charge. Just an idea, but if anyone else might want to, it might be a good way of getting some inspiration or just getting rid of stuff taking up space. I have too many cord locks and bits of fabric, insulation that I have no use for. Could be like a little trunk swap and shop when we all leave on Sunday.
That's a good idea, I have piles of crap I have tried to start.

well finally got to my laptop and got on the spreadsheet i know ya"ll are thinking tofu salad trust me i"m a born and bred texan i thought the same thing the first time my wife made it but its delicious what times will there be parking lot runs i"m coming in the am friday just wanting to know the earlier the better for me i"m a get up at 4 kinda guy i'm also going to bring 5 gallons of water i"M sure there can"t be to much of that
I will be getting late Thursday night to parking lot #4, and will spend the night there, likely. If you're game to try hiking in to this place Friday Morning, we can do that, toss whoever has a vehicle out of their hammock to give us a ride back to our vehicles to haul in the rest of the gear. Just a thought, SMK,

This is last call for the food sign up. I am starting the shopping this weekend and finalizing next weekend. If you have not gotten on the list for the meal plan please do so as soon as you can. I am so ready to get back into the woods.

I'm ready to get out there too!

I just got home from a week with 6 dozen children and a dozen HS/College age counselors. We were at camp but not camping. In the woods but not in the trees. While it was a great week, it was a tease.

I'm ready for the real deal too!
