$24.90 Modase 40L pack..

#1

Post by CThanger86 » Sun Nov 06, 2016 1:57 pm

Ordered this on Amazon, really happy with it already. My 65L is just to big (and heavy, 4.5lbs) and my newer 47.8L from walmart is just a bit small in the fit on me (hip belt is just above my belly button), this fits all my necessary gear and is just 12.7oz. cant wait for my next trip in a few weeks.

Looks good!

I like it!

Especially the price.

That's a good looking pack and a great price. Looks like they came to some of the same design decisions as the original REI Flash backpacks. Let us know how it carries and what kind of weight you ended up carrying.

It'll be taking a 3 day 2 night trip to the Catskills starting black friday. Im hoping to get a few local miles in with it loaded up first. But will definitely let you know how it works out. Just walking around the house for a few mins with it loaded up (witout food or water) and I think its going to be a good pack especially for the price. I havent weighed it but im guessing its somewhere in the 10-12lb range with all my necessary gear. Big dofference from the 27lb I had on my back the last time I went out to the big mountains lol

My black friday trip got canceled but I've used it for a few short day hikes with just the hammock and costco underquilt in it. I walked around for 5-10mins with it loaded up a few days after I got it and it was comfortable and almost like it wasn't there compared to my bigger 65L internal frame pack

Thought the same. Looks like a flash 45. Those high side pockets look like they'd be nice for a tall bottles like 1L smart water.

Please do let us know what you think as you get some more usage out of it. Twenty five bucks to boot.

Those who have purchased this, what height range is it good for. I have a few friends looking for new lighter weight packs.

Received the bag today (one day early, merry Christmas to me).
The bag looks very small. I have a 40L now and the new bag looks like a 20L next to it. Haven't loaded it yet but my expectations are now low. I really want this bag to work but think it might not hold my stuff .

Ok, let me first say..... I like the bag. I really think the fabric and stitches are good. However, the shoulder straps are not padded very much. The one I received are paper thin (maybe this is a "ultralight" feature that I'm not yet cool enough for. Image
I packed it with everything from my other pack. I think I should get a larger pack. Image
No place for my nightstand/chair/ladder to get that perfect height (luxury item but so damn handy when drinking coffee while waking up), the waist belt pockets are under my last rib but towards the back. I do wish they were closer to tummy. Like I said, I do like it. Maybe a good summer pack. I still need my UQ on there and H2o.
