Stumbled onto this site and looks like just what I was looking for. New to the hammock thing but as an avid DIYer jumped in with both feet and loving it so far. Glad to see a place where where folks can discuss freely. As I can happily say: Good Morning and God Bless,

Welcome, Sheldon! If you are a noob, feel free to ask all the questions needed. There is plenty of experience with hammocks and insulation of same. Several of us have 5-10+ years of hangin in the woods and back yard.

Thanks much. Def a noob, was interested in the concept after 25 years of sleeping on the ground for Uncle Sam. Also cannot stand being hot when sleeping I blame him as well, seems he never sends us anywhere pleasant. As life has moved on I now find myself in charge of 30 some cub scouts and facing the reality of life back in the bush. Got to poking around and made a GE out of some taffeta I found in the clearance section of joanns and been tinkering since then. This morphed into a bridge as I couldn't get comfortable in the GE. Happy with it so far. Scored a bunch of 400d pack cloth here at the fort stupid cheap and just finished one for my boy. Also put together a "junk yard" turtle dog from stuff I found on post. Looking forward to picking y'alls brains for your diy expertise. Working on insulation now. Checked out sarge's videos on using the costo quilt, glad I did, will save me a bunch of time pulling thread! His Grace and Peace.
