Greetings from SE Ohio

Hello and thanks for allowing me to join. I am a complete noob so I came here to learn from the experts. Just bought a Hobo hammock and found out about this group from YouTube videos from Sargevining. Gotta say I am very intrigued as I sort of gave up camping a few years back. Too uncomfortable sleeping on the ground. Hopefully hammock camping will get me back sleeping in the wild. I am a veritable sponge ready to absorb the knowledge and maybe share some of my own advice in the future. :)

Howdy and welcome to the campfire!

You story is much like mine. I'd given up on backpacking and camping, then God showed my hammocks and said "Get back out into the woods."

:) Thanks Sarge. You inspire me. I took your advice and am going through the introductory videos on this site. Great stuff from folks that I would love to meet someday including yourself.

Greetings, from north central WV. What kind of camping are you in to?

My family and I were just talking about making a trip to hocking hills and old mans cave. It'll be our first trip out there.

Hocking Hills and Old Man's Cave is a great trip. We stayed in a cabin the one and only time I was there. I'm going to try the hammock camping when it gets warmer.

Starting in warm weather is a good idea. It requires less gear, and it's a big advantage in the hottest parts of summer where tents are uncomfortably warm even at night. Feel to post questions if you run on to any problems. Happy hanging :)

Welcome!

Hammocks will definitely reinvigorate your interest in camping.

It did for me so I'm speaking from experience :)
