First sewing project

#1

Post by CThanger86 » Mon Apr 17, 2017 4:44 pm

So I finally got around to trying out my sewing machine. Made a seam ripped and shortened double layer/modular underquilt with a few cdt's. It's 60in long by 45in wide, horizontal tubes on the outside layer and vertical tubes on the inside. A full quilts worth of down in the outter layer, and about 3/4 worth in the inside layer. Got down to 36 degrees and I was toasty warm, definitely think it will get me down into the mid 20's.

Haha, yeah I ripped all the 60in seams to leave 70in tubes. Let it hang for a day to settle all the down at the bottom. Then stitched a seam at 50in and then about 5in in on the other side and trimmed the excess to give me the 60long by 45wide.

Also forgot to mention, sarge.. my first no sew quilt, and the one that I won from you are both with happy new owners. My buddies tried out their first "real" underquilts on our trip this past Friday

Always nice to hear that new guys are getting good stuff from good people.
