I haven't even met any of y'all yet but it's been nice knowin' ya. I may have just set in motion my own demise. Last night I told MRSLONESTAR I was going to go ahead and order "the stuff to make y'all's hammocks." She just said, "OK."

I'm just hoping MRSLONESTAR doesn't check the credit card statement. If she does, I may have to rescind my RSVP to the Texas Fall Hang!

Wish me luck boys! And girls...

LOL! I can relate. I learned quickly that when I got into hammock hanging I also got into credit card statement hiding and other evasion tactics. Good luck my friend!

That was never a problem for me. My bride and offspring tried my gear, and liked it. In fact they laid claim to it so I had to purchase new for me.

Been nicer talking, but...
Hammock and hiking gear is a WHOLE lot cheaper and easier many other hobbies and sports, such as boating, redhead chasing, golf, airplanes, gliders, etc.
Get your mind in the right perspective.

Yeah, my wife likes me making gear. At dinner one night with another couple, the guy was telling me about a road bike had just bought for $8K. His wife didn't know and threw a fit when she heard. My wife looked over, patted my hand, and said something like "Order whatever you need honey".

I've been fairly gentle with my hammock gear purchases, only picking up one or two items every 6 months or so. My wife could never get comfortable in a GE hammock, so I wasn't quick to spend a ton of money on gear. I got her a WBRR and now she is hooked. I think I'm safe with some big purchases now. KingLoneStar, how did the hammocks turn out?
