Re: DIY Kifaru Knock-Off

So I got to try it out at Tyler State Park when some family came down to visit. It takes some dialing in. The first time I was able to get positioned and sit comfortably for a while. When I got up to help around camp and came back to it. I could not get the same position dialed in and kept sliding b...

Re: The Time Has Come To Answer These Questions

Anyone drink folgers from the metal can? If so I need someone to bring a metal coffee can to the butt bake.

Re: Litesmith - Reflective amsteel?

Just a heads up, Their line is not as reflective as Lawson, but it is sliceable and does fairly well. To me it seems that friction heats it up and distorts it more than regular amsteel so be mindful of that. The reflective bungee is really nice, but once again, not as reflective as Lawson. Not sure ...

B.O.B.-Do you have one? Is a hammock in it?

I've carried a go bag for years, it started out as a murse, just a backpack with a bunch of things in it that I needed throughout the day, but eventually evolved into a legit get home bag, with survival and medical supplies. Over the course of the years there have been times when I was without my go...

Hiking and Fishing

Been thinking more and more about trying my hand at Tenkara fly fishing for a few reasons, simplicity and size being the main ones. However, I was curious if anyone is packing a pole on their hikes and if so what kind? Has it been worth the weight and space in your pack for you to bring it? Any that...

Re: New Forum dedicated to heavyweight camping

Car camping trips are the ultimate shakedowns. I can bring multiple of everything and try it out. If I bring a lightweight tiny tarp and decide I want full coverage, pack it up, walk to the trunk, and swap it for one of my winter dreams. Decide to not unpack a UQ cuz it's hot as hades and then a col...

On a side note, the Arnold Palmer tea jugs make excellent caching containers.

Re: The Time Has Come To Answer These Questions

Pretty sure we have it reserved. Is there some controlled burning or some other forest closing event going on in the near future??? Yeah Cheryl reserved it, but someone posted a picture on Facebook that they took showing signs saying it is closed until further notice and they had game cameras monit...

Re: Hammock Hang Trip Map

Karla, have you cross posted these under the trip threads here on hammockhangers? Nope, and probably won't. I'm only hosting two of them that I listed and I make separate websites for those hangs rather than have multiple threads and events across 4-5 platforms. No worries. Just a reminder that onc...

Re: Mission for Sil Nylon to make gear quilt

Kyle at www.ripstopbytheroll.com is a hard one to beat. Wide selection or supplies and fast shipping. Welcome to the forum! You may also try a pack strap out of lash it or zing it with one of the micro-biners. You can wrap it around the trunk of a tree and suspend your pack above the ground, a littl...
