Re: Calling all vapers

Airplane mode on the phone saves a LOT. I ran my IPHONE for 8 and 10 hours up on the Eagle Rock Loop (ZERO cell service) and ran the MayMyHike app to track my miles using GPS. The MOST the phone discharged was discharged, was 50 percent. That day, I shot perhaps 10 photos with it and several videos ...

Re: Litesmith ANKR carbon fiber stakes

I used mine from rutalocura http://www.rutalocura.com/Tent_Stakes.html
They did fine. I really only used two on my WBBB pull outs and no bad weather. I have put a loop of Niteze on them so I can see them at night but also pull them up.

Re: What would it take?

Very disappointed in BOTH PARTIES this year. Failed me, both of them. The few Republicans I'd align with, got shouted down quick. I've voted third party/Libertarian before. Our state (Texas) is a Repub stronghold. My wife is voting for Hillary. But I get tickled at other friends who are "OMG!! YOU A...

Re: Flynguy's descent down the DIY rabbit hole!

Nice looking work! My mom sews, has all her life. Raised in the depression, so you made your own clothes. Then, was a USAF wife, so still made clothes, drapes, you name it. I can barely turn the machine on before I mess up. She nails that foot or knee controller FULL SPEED AHEAD and makes it looks S...

Re: No see-um stuff sack? anybody done this?

That mesh as a pre-filter is a great Tip!!! I have a bottom-cut-off-a-Smart-Water bottle, which is my scoop but also my Mini-Sawyer and such goes inside that. Then, all of it into the mesh stuff sack, just to keep it all contained.

Re: No see-um stuff sack? anybody done this?

I bought some at REI. I keep my Sawyer filter "stuff" in it. I use Mountain Goats snake mesh snake skins on my tarp. The outside of the tarp next to the mesh, will dry. But inside really won't. No airflow when the tarp is rolled up to go into the mesh. Same with other objects. But the stuff is super...

I believe Karen was also going back out to freshen her book. Thought she was going out last winter or early this year.

I have a Dansani bottle I've been using for like 8 months. I take it to the gym like 4 or 5 days a week.....
My wife runs through a case of water bottle like twice a month. She recycles them all, but......
Hiking, Camelbak's and/or Smart water bottles.

Re: Cinch Belt

When I orienteer, or hike, I use a poly compresson strap from REI. I got it long, then cut it short and melted the cut. Been using it for 7 or so years.
