Re: Camping with cats

nope......but I remember reading about an AT thru hiker, who had an orphan kitten "adopt" him on the trail. They completed the hike together. Kitty would hunt mice most of the night, and sleep on top of the backpack during the day.

We have a "West Marine" and they have a huge supply of different cordage. You might check a marine store near you (call first).

Re: First hang with Whoopies

Try all the steps mentioned. Set it up. Milk the bury, twice even. Use the tail of the whoopie to do a half-hitch. Then, apply hand pressure to the ridge line or the hammock...push it down and hard. It might give some, but shouldn't much. Occasionally, even with all those steps, I get in and feel it...

Re: Rookie mistakes...

Sewed a DIY hammock, some tree straps, made some nice amsteel whoopies, and went out to hang it. First time as a hammock user. Made my marlinspike hitch in the webbing to hang the hammock from using a stick I picked up off the ground. Laying in the hammock enjoying the view up into the spruce trees...

Re: New design maybe?

Love my Raven! Just slept overnight in it for the first time. I awoke around 2 AM thinking "great, I need to move that UQ over to my right..." which in my other hammocks, means unzipping the ONE side and attempting to push the UQ over, or grab it under the hammock. Then my brain remembered "this is ...
