Re: LSHT (section 6) weekend trip in April

I would potentially be interested in meeting up with you guys for this trip. I am currently working on section hiking the LSHT. I haven't done this part yet. I'll keep it in mind and let you know a little closer to the date. I have a hike planned for the weekend before this, but assuming that one go...

Re: Treble Hammock first impressions

It would be fun to try, but I think you would have issues finding trees for it. Also it's pretty heavy, would be fine for car camping if you knew you had trees that were usable.

Re: The $35.00 Camp Chair

Never mind Sarge! When I got home and checked my mail the chair was stuffed in the mailbox! Talk about compact! Of course I set it up instantly. It seems like a quality chair for only $35! I can't wait to get it out in the woods!

Re: The $35.00 Camp Chair

Hey Sarge! When you ordered you chair, how long did it take for them to process your order? It has been a week now and I have still not gotten shipping confirmation.

Re: Your go to knife

The knife I carry with me every day is a SOG Mini Aegis. It has held up well to extended use, keeps its edge decently well, and has been a great overall knife. For a multi tool I like one by SOG as well, but the name escapes me. It is of course one with a lot of tools on it because I always feel lik...

Re: Best Tarp For A Noob

The first tarp I used was a Eno Profly. One trip with it and I realized it was too small for my liking. I upgraded to the Superfly and could not be happier. It has excellent coverage and I do not feel cramped for space ever. It is lighter than the profly yet covers much more area.

Re: Making Coffee

I always like to have coffee when I am camping/hiking. I take the easy/lazy way out and carry a GSI French press mug. http://www.gsioutdoors.com/commuter-javapress.html It definitely adds weight to my pack, but it makes pretty good coffee and then it's already in a mug and ready to drink! I do not m...

Re: The Scuba- Zimmerbuilt Hammock pack

I really like the look of this pack! I have been holding out on not getting my first backpacking pack due to not being able to find exactly what I want. I think this is it with a few personal modifications like you have done.

Hello From Houston!

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself to everyone. I have been lurking for a while (longer than I wanted, my confirmation email kept going to my junk folder and I never found it until now), but am glad to finally be a member! I am currently living in Houston and have enjoyed hanging at Hunts...
