Re: Texas State Parks and 2 inch straps

Unless it was Tim (who is in charge of FLSP) I would NOT take that to the bank. I very seriously doubt that anyone at FLSP will go on the record as saying to ignore the TPWD guidelines. In other words, just be cautious.

This caused some people on the Texas Hammock Hangers FB group to declare how this is a terrible, really bad, no good rule. Here are my thou...

Lawson info

below is a copy of a post Lawson made elsewhere that has some good info The reason why most lines are not as reflective as mine is they either use half the amount of reflective tracers, or they use knockoff 3M tracers made in China that are not as reflective. The reflective tracer from 3M costs roug...

Re: Is this the future of campgrounds accommodating hammocks?

I freaking hope not. I don't want to sleep next to someone when I am out hanging. Also, where the hell do I put my tarp? Just sink some 6x6 posts into the ground, about 15ft apart and call it a day.

Re: Hiking with guns

Long heavy trigger pull. I understand that accuracy is compromised with that, and there are those that say all triggers are equal when carrying so it is a false security. To that group I agree in principle, but if that is the case why don't they carry a light competition trigger? People who say tha...

Re: Why is my hammock suspension too tight/too loose?

Good information! Trivial knowledge: "Rule of thumb" has a medieval reference to the size of the rod that can be used to beat your wife. It can't be thicker than the man's thumb, or it becomes too abusive. Perhaps hammock hangers need a "Rule of the Gun Hand". On a more serious note, I haven't pers...

The following is an excerpt of a blog article.  Read Full Article When you first start hammock camping getting your suspension set right seems impossible. Once you start to understand some of the “physics” of hammock suspensions, it will become easier, and hopefully start to make m...
